A three-minute drive or around fifteen minutes on foot brings you to the heritage village, its abbey, museum and lanes. Later in the day, the streets are often quieter, with beautiful light on the old façades.
An 8 km greenway for all levels, including a 71-metre tunnel. The route starts in Dionay, around a 5-minute drive from the cottage.

Around 25 minutes away, at the gateway to the Vercors, the village opens onto wider views, with its aqueduct and paddleboat on the Isère. A gentle outing to see another side of Royans.
A 25-minute drive away, colourful houses seem to cling above the Bourne. Explore the village on foot, through lanes and viewpoints overlooking the river.
A 35-minute drive brings you to a town worth stopping in for the collégiale Saint-Barnard, a taste of pogne and a history rooted in shoemaking.
Around 30 minutes away, the historic home of raviole-making, where producers keep the recipe alive.
Around 40 minutes away, step into cool air, rock and clear water on a guided tour of one of the best-known caves in the Vercors, famous for its delicate straw stalactites.
A day out
A 45- to 50-minute drive. Beyond Saint-Jean-en-Royans, the road becomes a balcony above the valley, with some of the most spectacular views in the Vercors. Take your time and stop where the views open up.
A 55- to 60-minute drive. A gateway to the higher Vercors, with plateaux, forests and cooler air. Stop for lunch or a walk, depending on the season, and allow a full day for the outing.
Mountain roads and passes are affected by the seasons. In winter and spring, check that they are open before setting off.
